'Adventure' isn't quite the best word to use, really. Today was filled with data entry, moving files back and forth, a meeting (!) and more file fun.
le sigh. Here's a pictures of the joint: That's my view. Actually, this photo makes the light a lot warmer than it truly is.
It's official now, I'm here until the end of January, so I can relax about hustling for a job. I still need to work some magic for evening gigs, or maybe more freelance editing stuff, and of course keep pushing my resume out there to get a real job, but at least this way I'm still getting what I was getting on unemployment, maybe a teensy bit more. The overdue bills will have to wait a while longer. At least I'll keep a roof over my head, and frankly can my credit get any worse? I don't want to actually ask that question.
I don't have to work until Thursday, that's five whole days I don't have to file or feign affection (sorry, Desiderata) to anyone.
highlights- This is method acting! today I wore christmas socks (the ones I bought last year in a fit, they are black toe socks with red toes, they say HO HO HO on them in green and red, and on one leg, there's a little santa, who you push and his nose lights up (like the real santa), and it plays a medly of christmas songs), I took my coffee mug with Santa on it, and bought a GIGANTIC PEN with a snowman on top. You want a temp? I'll be your temp.
The boss man, for all his gruff, walrus-moustachioed appearance, has great communication skills and faith in his people, which is nice. He's kind, also nice. He let me leave at 2 today because I couldn't take it anymore, and it's Christmas. He offered to let me have 2 hours pay if I take the phone user manual home and read it over the holiday. I shook my head vigorously, but that's a nice offer thankyouverymuch.
What does tomorrow hold? tomorrow? A 2-hour gig as a Caroling Elf (!!), then who knows what else. This is living, people.
